Queens Borough Public Library helped connect a million minds by organizing a Summer Science Fair to serve as the culminating event to celebrate the Time Warner Cable-sponsored initiative to bring STEM learning to the children and families of Flushing, New York. The Fair showcased several of the interactive activities and exhibits that have been completed by elementary and middle school students attending the STEM program held during the 2014-15 school year. The fair drew close to 150 adults, teens, and children to the Library. It introduced complex STEM concepts in a friendly and rewarding learning experience. We were pleased to be joined by several Time Warner employees that conveyed enthusiasm and curiosity as they assisted, engaged, and interacted with both adult and youth.
