COLUMBIA COUNTY, Wis. — Spectrum today announced the launch of Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV and Voice services to more than 1,300 homes and small businesses for parts of Columbia and Sauk Counties.

This new construction is part of Spectrum’s continued work in both counties in 2022 in an effort to provide broadband access to underserved rural communities. A nearly $5 billion investment includes more than $1 billion won in the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) RDOF auction. The company’s RDOF expansion will provide broadband access to roughly 1 million customer locations as estimated by the FCC across 24 states in the coming years.

“Through RDOF, Spectrum is making it possible to extend gigabit broadband networks to unserved communities across Wisconsin,” said Matt Brown, Spectrum’s Vice President of Construction. “We are providing superior connectivity to local residents and small businesses at highly competitive prices, backed by an organization committed to craftsmanship and service.”

Broadband Speeds up to 1 Gbps, Plus Money-Saving Mobile Options and 85,000 On Demand Choices

Spectrum offers customers a best-in-class suite of products, highlighted by Spectrum Internet plans with speeds up to 1 Gbps for both residential customers and small business clients, starting speeds of 300 Mbps and no modem fees, data caps or contracts. Spectrum Business Internet offers download speeds of 300 Mbps, 600 Mbps and 1 Gbps.

“The transition to working from home and virtual school instruction was very difficult for our rural schools, communities and families,” said State Sen. Joan Ballweg. “I am pleased both the federal and state government have made progress on helping close this access gap once and for all, and thankful for Spectrum’s partnership in bringing high-speed internet to our communities.”

This latest completed project includes service for parts of Arlington, Dekorra, Fort Winnebago, Lowville, Marcellon, Pacific, Scott, Woycena, and the Village of Poynette in Columbia County and the sections of the Towns of Baraboo, Prairie Du Sac, Sumpter and West Point in Sauk County. Local residents and business owners should visit spectrumruralexpansion.com to learn more about when their home or business may be able to receive Spectrum services.

“Parts of rural Columbia County remained without access to an internet connection for too long,” said State Rep. Jon Plumer. “Now, thanks to Spectrum’s RDOF expansion, more families and small businesses have fast internet available at their doorstep.”

Spectrum Internet® has been consecutively ranked as one of the best internet service providers by U.S. News & World Report, and also earned the highest rating among the Best Internet Service Providers for Rural Areas. Spectrum Internet also exceeded advertised download and upload speeds for all tiers measured — even during peak weeknight usage between 7 and 11 p.m. — according to the FCC’s most recent “Measuring Broadband America Fixed Broadband Report” issued in December 2021.

Along with multiple broadband options, Spectrum services will also include Spectrum TV® and Spectrum Mobile. Local residents and business owners should visit spectrumruralexpansion.com to learn more about when their home or business may be able to receive Spectrum services.
